Meet artist Chris Hill at our "Meet the Artist" series here at Black Birch Vineyard. Chris, of Hadley, MA, is a devout home-gardener and houseplant enthusiast. Wood sculptor since age 5. An artist of many mediums, specializing in acrylic and oil on canvas. Inventor and collector of weird objects and clocks. Forever a student of nature.

Nocturnal Landscapes is a series of paintings depicting farmland and fallow field— as they should be: flush with life, no patch of soil left bare, where pollinators, predators and pests abound. Animals graze and peck, weeds and mushrooms numerous. The primary crop thrives- does better than it would on its own- through the synergy of community.
