My current artistic focus is portraying memories through my ceramic work, specifically focusing on experiences I have had revolving around nature. By carving out natural textures onto my ceramic forms, I aim to both replicate pieces of nature as well as abstract the subjects into classic ceramic forms. The labor-intensive carving and sculpture work helps me to solidify these special moments in time, and honor the family I shared these times with. I hope to spark a conversation about experiences others have shared through nature, and how the different textures and carvings might represent different events to different people.
